Jack Starwin has very little memory of his past, and doesn’t seem to care one way or the other, except for the occasional nightmare. What does concern him, and always has, is his never-ending obsession with all things that grow upon the Earth, which has made him the wet-dream of every Green Peace fanatic.

Adopted as a baby by a run of the mill family, in a run of the mill neighborhood, he turned his father Randy’s run of the mill backyard greenhouse into became known to the family as ‘Frankenstein’s Lab’. While his father had small plants growing in neat little rows, Jack, by the age of 5, discovered that he had the ability to somehow influence plants to grow according to his will. The neat little rows disappeared almost overnight. Realizing that Jack was responsible, Randy struck a compromise: Jack could have control of the greenhouse and anything he grew in it, but had to limit his powers outside. Randy never again had to weed the yard or cut the grass from that day forward.

By the age of 16, Jack had been able to manipulate plants to grow as the normally shouldn’t and grow where they normally could not. Bullys at school stopped pestering him about his great height and slender frame when a giant Venus Flytrap burst forth from the concrete during lunch period one day and gave chase to one of his tormenters.

Upon graduating from high school, Jack took on a job at a local Home & Garden warehouse store tending to the plants they sold. Now surrounded by plants all day, he has finally found the ability to speak to them through a means of telepathy.

Ever since the incident at school, Jack had always been careful to hide his abilities away from the rest of the world, but he knew that one day he was bound to slip up. This happened under the most innocent of circumstances: The Giant Pumpkin contest at the local fair. His actions involving the Venus Flytrap 4 years earlier had drawn suspicion from both the Equinox and the Xtorians. However, when his entry in the competition tipped the scales to just over 3000 lbs., setting a new world record, they knew for sure that he was one of the long lost children of Xor they had been searching for.

        Jack has the ability to enforce total control over any plant within a 1 mile radius of himself at all times. While using his powers his skin changes from its normal color to a shade of light green. He can utilize anything from grass to flowers to trees to act offensively and defensively as he sees fit. Anyone attacking him will usually find their bullets imbedded in the trunk of a massive tree that will instantly grow out of the ground in a split second, the attackers themselves being attacked by vines, thorn bushes, and giant carnivorous plants. Jack often uses large thorns as throwing knives and a vine, usually tipped with poisonous thorns as a whip. He uses an abandoned gold mine as his headquarters. Left empty because the gold veins had run dry, as well as the fact that extensive mining had made the mine extremely unstable, Jack has reinforced the passageways and chambers with thick roots and vines. The mine is lit by luminescent mushrooms, which also act as part of the defense system, containing highly toxic spores which will spray out at any uninvited guests.
